Happy Birthday, Lola! It's Your Blogiversary

It’s hard to believe a whole year has passed since we launched Today’s Nest.  What a fun and exciting year it has been!  I have encountered so many interesting and creative people.

In the beginning, I had no idea what I was doing… I just knew I could do it.  I made plenty of mistakes along the way, but that’s ok.  If you have the desire, you must try things.  Today’s Nest is all about how to get the most out of this modern life.  I can assure you that nobody ever got the most out of anything without taking some risks.  Be BOLD

I love all of the feedback our readers have provided.  One comment I saw from a treat post said “I wish I had the courage to try something like this.”   To this reader I say it’s just food.  The worst thing that could happen is you toss it.  Get out there and make some mistakes.

So what’s on the horizon?  We have several projects in the works.  Last week we announced our newest blog, Lola’s Fresh.  This blog will be fully operational within the next two weeks.  Lola’s Fresh will be written weekly and highlight urban homesteading and gardening.  We are also planning a blog dedicated to food only with an emphasis on family meals and basics.  Look for video tutorials.

On the business front we plan to finally have our eBakery, Savour Bakery and Gift fully functional by the end of the month.  We are also considering a storefront that would encompass all of our projects… more to come on that.

To start our second year out right we have lined up all sorts of good stuff for March such as:

  • Gardening
  • Backyard Design
  • Making a Family Memory Book
  • Kettle Chips
  • Planning a Spring Party
  • DIY Stools
  • And, of course, the Treat of the Week

If you like what we’ve done so far, I hope you will consider following us on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and subscribing by email or reader.  I also hope you will consider suggesting us to your friends through one of those same channels.

We cannot adequately express our gratitude for the support we have received this year.  I have enjoyed getting to know many of you.  I hope to continue to cultivate those relationships this year while making new friends.
